The brief
This was a design build project close to my heart. The Garcias reside in Coral Gables in an area that's full of oak trees and history. This project was built from the ground up as it was a blank slate. The Garcias were looking for a stunning garden in which they could entertain guests, and expressed their need for serious curb appeal, longevity, privacy, and a landscape that's easy to maintain.
Our solution
And they got it! Loads of fragrant roses, gardenias and jasmine now perfume the air and greet them after a long day at the office. We even provided them with an exotic, always-blooming Stemmadenia tree.
Podocarpus now provides privacy in their backyard, and Japanese blueberry trees bring much needed levels and a sanctuary feel to the front yard. We included exotic bamboo, installed an agave garden, and planted palms with ferns and orchids attached.
The client's reaction
The Garcias were thrilled with their new tropical paradise garden, which has massive curb appeal. They wanted that wow factor and they certainly got it! This is why it was named our Garden of the Year in 2021.
The Garcias expressed their gratitude for a landscape that looked like it had been established for a few years but was just freshly planted. I continue to visit their landscape to offer quarterly fertilizing and we remain great friends after all these years.
