The Williams's were looking for a tropical theme for their new garden. Aesthetics were very important to them, as they were after serious curb appeal. Ease of maintenance was also an important requirement.
We used podocarpus, a wonderful hedge plant, to create a privacy hedge. We achieved the Williams's need for aesthetics with a stunning agave garden in the center island. This was combined with juniper ground cover, black coral alocasia, bromeliads and other floral ground cover.
We added a secret garden behind the dividing wall in the front, with a great view from the living room. We were able to relocate some bougainvillea plants to other areas in the yard which are now thriving. Majestic bamboo anchors the front yard, and there's loads of color throughout! And, of course, all of this was installed within the agreed budget and time frame.
The client's reaction
Vaughn and Arlena Williams were quite thrilled with the outcome. They loved the curb appeal, as they had none before we started. They enjoy the fragrant roses by the doorway to greet them. And they're happy I'm staying on to fertilize and inspect the garden quarterly to make sure all is well.
